Matt Hopper is a mainstay of the Kansas City jazz scene, playing weekly with his bands Agora, The Matt Hopper Trio, and Boogaloo 7. His debut album, First Love, is playing nationally over 70 radio stations.

September 7

Joseph Panella
4:30-7:00 p.m.

Joseph Panella has been performing (upright bass and electric bass) professionally for over a decade, along with full-time touring and recording with the Nashville-based Annie Moses Band from 2013 to 2015. Currently, Panella resides in Kansas City, performing as a freelance bassist and teaching as a bass instructor at The Culture House School of Music in Olathe.

Mike Herrera is a performer, conductor, composer, arranger, and educator. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Herrera has performed with many musicians including Bobby Watson, Michael Carven, Harold O’Neal, Randy Brecker, and Paul McKee.

Claire Adams

Bassist, guitarist, singer and songwriter, Claire Adams has played with blues rock outfit Katy Guillen & The Girls, Kansas City chamber ensemble The Classical Revolution, and roots rock artist Samantha Fish. Currently, Adams is playing solo, collaborating with string quartet Rewound, and performing with jazz pianist Alyssa Murray and drummer Fritz Hutchison

Ezgi Karakus Trio
4:30-7:00 p.m.

Ezgi completed her Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance at the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music & Dance under Prof. Carter Enyeart, Mark Gibbs, and Micheal Mermagen. Additionally, she was chosen to perform for Yo-Yo Ma’s Master Class at the Kauffman Center of the Performing Arts on March 22, 2018. Currently, Ezgi is an Adjunct Professor of Cello at Missouri Western State University, Emporia State University, Ottawa University, a teaching artist at the Harmony Project Kansas City, a section cellist at the Topeka Symphony, a substitute cellist at the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and Kansas City Symphony.
